Am I Crazy?

Ok, I have been looking for a light fixture for Brodie's room for like FOR-EV-ER (Think Sandlot peeps).

See nasty "boob" light- I want it GONE!

I want something that is

1. Not feminine
2. Not a fan
3. Short--because I have a giant of a husband and have 8' ceilings upstairs.
4. Cool- not your everyday light.

I was searching on Craigslist and found this....

It's Brass with cool glass around it. We of course would shorten the chain.  I would paint it-- high gloss white (or maybe orange?) or metallic silver. And then use some type of bulb like this.

What do you think? Am I nuts or is this a good idea?

P.S. I might just try it anyway. The light is only 25 bucks.
