Bunk Beds

I have been MIA has been much longer than I expected. Easter snuck up on me and we have had company for the past few weeks so...NO headboard yet, ALMOST done with my website, and NO posts for the last week or so.

I don't know why but I seem to have an obsession with bunk beds on pinterest. We don't have room for them in our house, so again, I'm clueless why I am pinning them.

Maybe it is because a couple of years ago, I was planning a boys bedroom for three boys in a 15' x 13' room with three windows on two walls. Talk about packed!!!

I ended up designing a custom built bed that had storage underneath the mattresses and 'towers' that were bookcases and trophy displays along with outlets and lighting.

They had two older boys that were going to share the 'bonus' room as their bedroom. Again, with custom beds, they would both have their own side of the room that could coordinate- yet be different. There was a bookcase headboard that separated the room and allowed light from the window to fill the room. It had storage/outlets for cell phones, alarm clocks, etc...

What a task! Unfortunately, these never came to life. The clients decided to move into a larger home that the boys could truly grow into rather than grow out of this house.

Maybe its because I grew up always wanting them and never got them.

Backyard Dreaming

So with this crazy warm weather, I have been dreaming of finally finishing our backyard. We have done nothing since the house was built..meaning green weeds and rocks in the backyard.

No place for little man to play this summer. So here's one of my many ideas that I have swarming on my pinterest boards...

An interesting Article that I read today-- long read but good points.

Why is Pinterest so addicting?

 “Pinterest is a place where we can demonstrate: ‘If it weren’t for all those mundane things that I do that I post on Facebook, this is what I would be doing and consuming. Here is my real self,’”

So true. I am now trying to make those wants into reality. How about you? Any Pinterest inspired projects going on?

Got something brewing...

Hey guys--sorry no Valentine Story post yet-- something is messed up with a few of the pictures. I am hoping to have it fixed and resend it today!

Anywho... I was playing on pinterest and have decided on finally getting to work on my powder bathroom. If you didn't know- it is one of the MANY rooms that I want to tackle this year.

Since it is such a small room, it really won't take long to make a huge transformation....

There are no windows- so it has to stay light and airy without compromising on a punch of color.

Without further ado, here's a clue to what I hope to accomplish this week...

I finally get it.

Pinterest is after my own heart.

I said that I would never have time for it.  I am now making time for it, HA!
